The Opportunity:
Ready to take the next step in your transport career? As a Fleet Controller, you’ll play a key role in keeping our local fleet running safely, efficiently and on schedule. You’ll coordinate drivers, manage daily operations, solve problems and keep customers informed, while building valuable experience for future opportunities across logistics.
You’ll work alongside an experienced and supportive team, gaining exposure to fleet operations, planning, compliance and customer service. This is a day-shift role, 7:30am–3:30pm, with occasional weekend rostered work based on customer demand.
You will:
Coordinate daily pickup and delivery schedules across local operations
Support 20–25 drivers, monitor progress and resolve operational issues
Keep customers informed and deliver a high standard of service
Maintain accurate manifests, records and system data
Make timely decisions to keep freight moving safely and efficiently
Work closely with drivers, customers and internal teams to resolve issues
This role requires occasional after-hours support and a strong commitment to operational excellence, safety leadership and team performance.
You will have:
Experience in transport, logistics, fleet coordination or a similar operational environment
Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse driver team
The ability to stay calm under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Good knowledge of Melbourne’s road network and an understanding of Chain of Responsibility and fatigue requirements
A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving
A customer-focused mindset and flexibility to provide support outside standard hours when required
