FOH Operations Manager
Micasa is looking for an experienced FOH Operations Manager / Café Venue Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our busy café.
This is a very hands-on, floor-based role. It is not an office role, and it is not suited to someone who wants to manage from the background. The right person must be comfortable being on the floor throughout service, constantly moving, checking tables, supporting staff, watching food quality, fixing issues, and making sure the venue is running properly in real time.
You will be overseeing the FOH team and managers, making sure service is smooth, standards are high, and the team is organised across each shift.
This role does not require you to manage the kitchen directly. However, you will be expected to oversee overall food quality, plating standards, timing, and communication between FOH and BOH to make sure customers are receiving the right standard every day.
Main duties include:
- Actively running day-to-day café operations from the floor
- Leading and supporting FOH managers and team members during service
- Moving through the venue constantly to monitor service, tables, food, and staff performance
- Making sure service standards are followed at all times
- Monitoring food quality, presentation, and timing
- Ensuring customers receive a high level of service
- Identifying and fixing issues during service, not after the fact
- Keeping the venue clean, organised, and operating smoothly
- Making sure daily service checklists are completed
- Handling basic paperwork and operational follow-up
- Helping improve systems, team performance, and consistency
- Communicating issues clearly with owners and senior staff
Important:
This position is for someone who enjoys being active and involved in service. You will be expected to be present, visible, and hands-on throughout the day.
If you are looking for a hands-off management role, this position will not be suitable.
The right person will have:
- Experience managing or supervising in a busy café, restaurant, or hospitality venue
- Strong FOH and customer service skills
- Confidence leading managers and team members
- Good communication and problem-solving ability
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to keep standards consistent during busy services
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to lead from the floor
- Basic admin skills for checklists, rostering communication, and daily reporting
This position would suit someone who is confident running a busy hospitality venue and can take ownership of the FOH operation while maintaining service, food, presentation, and team standards every day.
