Pipemakers is seeking an experienced and mechanically minded Maintenance Fitter to join our manufacturing team in Deer Park.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified fitter who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, solving mechanical challenges and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently. You'll play a key role in supporting production through expert die setting, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for carrying performing preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting to maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support efficient production.
Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting preventative maintenance, repairs and fault-finding on manufacturing equipment

Inspecting machine performance and identifying quality or mechanical issues during production

Maintaining tooling, ensuring correct storage, cleanliness and accurate tooling records

Collaborating with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and support efficient operations

Ordering maintenance parts and updating tooling records as required

Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality and equipment performance

Maintaining a safe workplace by following site procedures, SOPs, PPE requirements and workplace health and safety practices
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Trade qualification as a Fitter with 3–5 years' experience as a Maintenance Fitter or in a similar manufacturing role

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A proactive and safety-focused approach
-
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
-
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
-
Proficiency with computer systems and maintenance documentation
-
A current Forklift Licence
Desirable
-
Experience within plastics, extrusion or manufacturing environments
-
Knowledge of extrusion tooling, PVC, OPVC or PE production processes
-
Experience with preventative maintenance systems and equipment troubleshooting

Understanding of quality systems, continuous improvement practices and workplace health and safety requirements
