The role can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
The Opportunity
As Business Development – Data Centres LV, you will take ownership of developing Siemens’ Low Voltage position within the data centre market across Australia and New Zealand.
You’ll be at the forefront of identifying opportunities, building strategic relationships and influencing projects well before they reach procurement. Working closely with customers, consultants, contractors and our valued switchboard builder partners, you’ll help bring Siemens solutions to life and enable our partners to deliver competitive, compliant and locally supported LV solutions.
It’s a role that combines strategy, technical understanding, commercial acumen and relationship building - with plenty of opportunity to make your mark.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive growth: Own and execute the Low Voltage data centre growth strategy, identifying target accounts, market opportunities, partner priorities and project pursuits.
- Know the market: Develop a strong understanding of the Australian and New Zealand data centre landscape, including hyperscale, colocation and enterprise opportunities, customer requirements, competitors and market trends.
- Enable our partners: Work closely with Siemens’ switchboard builder partners to strengthen their capability to design, quote, build, test and support Siemens-based LV solutions.
- Build influential relationships: Develop trusted relationships with data centre owners and operators, consultants, contractors, distributors, switchboard builders and technology partners.
- Get in early: Identify major opportunities before procurement, influence technical specifications and develop commercial strategies that position Siemens for success.
- Bring people together: Collaborate across Siemens sales, product management, technical support, supply chain and global data centre teams to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
- Be our industry ambassador: Represent Siemens at industry events, customer meetings, partner workshops, training sessions and networking opportunities.
- Turn insight into action: Maintain strong visibility of pipeline, forecasting, account activity, partner engagement and market intelligence.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who combines commercial drive with strong technical understanding and who enjoys building relationships and creating opportunities.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong knowledge of the data centre market, including critical power infrastructure and LV distribution systems.
- Experience in business development, project sales, major project pursuits or technical sales within electrical infrastructure, switchgear, switchboards, power distribution or a related industry.
- A proven ability to build relationships with senior customers, consultants, contractors, distributors, switchboard builders and internal stakeholders.
- A customer-focused and commercially minded approach, with the ability to turn early-stage opportunities into meaningful project outcomes.
- Strong communication, influencing, negotiation and analytical skills.
- The confidence to navigate complex stakeholder environments and connect technical solutions with commercial outcomes.
- Experience with CRM systems, forecasting, pipeline management and structured project tracking will be highly regarded.
