Maintenance Fitter / Boilermaker
Our client is a well-established industrial services company providing maintenance, shutdown, repair, and asset support services across a range of sectors including manufacturing, materials handling, mining, construction, and heavy industry. Their team is responsible for maintaining critical plant and equipment, ensuring reliability, safety, and operational performance.
Contract Term Duration: 6 Months

End Date: January 2027
Location: Darra
Role Purpose The Maintenance Fitter / Boilermaker will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, mechanical fitting, welding, and fabrication work on a variety of industrial plant and equipment. The role supports ongoing maintenance requirements and project work, requiring a strong focus on safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial plant and equipment.
- Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
- Complete welding, fabrication, cutting, and repair work on plant, machinery, and structural components.
- Conduct inspections and identify wear, damage, or potential failures on equipment.
- Carry out fitting, alignment, installation, and replacement of mechanical components including bearings, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
- Complete maintenance reports, work orders, and inspection records accurately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment in accordance with site procedures.
- Assist with shutdowns, plant upgrades, and improvement projects as required.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance personnel and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability.
Key Requirements / Skills
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Boilermaker, or equivalent.
- EWP, Working at Heights, White Card (Required).
- Q Fever Vaccination (Desirable).
- Experience performing maintenance, repairs, and fault finding on industrial equipment.
- Strong welding and fabrication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Competent using precision measuring equipment and alignment tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to safe work practices and quality outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Desirable Attributes
- Previous experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, mining, materials handling, or industrial maintenance environments.
- Experience working on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, crushers, rotating equipment, or processing machinery.
- Shutdown and project maintenance experience highly regarded.
- Ability to work overtime or extended hours when required.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
