Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator to join our growing team. The successful applicant will perform a wide range of painting and decorating duties across residential and commercial projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes and protective finishes.
- Read and interpret plans and job specifications.
- Calculate material requirements.
- Estimate quantities of materials required for each project.
- Match colours and prepare paint mixtures.
- Protect surrounding surfaces during painting.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards.
- Comply with workplace health and safety procedures.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Painter in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- At least two years of relevant full-time work experience as a Painter & Decorator or equivalent.
- Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Painting and Decorating) is desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work at heights.
- Current White Card.
- The successful applicant will be required to complete reference checks and a National Police Check prior to employment.
