- Operate stand-up electric forklift and electric pallet jack to move pallets of merchandising from inside delivery trailers to the receiving dock to be checked in

Complete daily forklift safety checklist and follow safety procedures

Check to see that all truck wheels are chocked and dock lock is in place before entering the truck. Change out forklift batteries and hooks batteries up to battery charger

Stack non-palleted merchandise and merchandise from damaged or unacceptable pallets onto Costco-approved pallets

Down-stack and separates mixed item pallets for checking

Count and check merchandise against freight bill

Notifies Receiving Manager of any damaged or mis-shipped items. Signs freight bill as the first receiver

Wrap pallets of double received goods with plastic wrap and move into rows of stacked pallets for transport to the floor or steel by merchandising drivers

Communicates with floor managers and merchandising Forklift Drivers to set priorities and determines pallet organisation

Loads merchandise and empties pallets to be shipped out onto trucks

Assist with second receiving

Key received goods into computer

Order printing of pallet tags and barcode stickers

Monitor all merchandise into and out of building.

Monitor people entering or leaving the building prior to opening for secure building access and follow security procedures

Follow proper Receiving and general safety and security procedures and standards

Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary

Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.

Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess):

Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher

Licenses/Certifications: Electric Pallet Jack, Forklift Licence (prior to beginning work in department)

Experience/Skills: Forklift driving or comparable experience, receiving or comparable experience
