Ready to step into a leadership role where you can still stay connected to the people you support?
Sapphire Support is looking for an experienced Disability Team Leader / SIL House Leader to lead the day-to-day operation of one of our Supported Independent Living homes on the Sunshine Coast.
This is a house-based leadership role for someone who enjoys being part of the everyday life of a home, knows what excellent disability support looks like, and can bring out the best in a team of Support Workers.
You'll know your participants. You'll know your team. And you'll have the support of an experienced management team behind you.
As Team Leader, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the home and provide consistent, visible leadership to the support team.
You'll work alongside Support Workers and build strong relationships with participants, families and the wider Sapphire team, while making sure the home operates safely, calmly and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Leading, mentoring and supporting the team of Support Workers within the home
- Setting clear expectations and modelling high-quality, person-centred support
- Building genuine relationships with participants and understanding their individual routines, preferences and support needs
- Supporting consistent implementation of care plans, behaviour support strategies and participant routines
- Overseeing handovers, documentation, medication practices, incidents and other day-to-day house requirements
- Identifying issues early and working with management to resolve them
- Supporting staff training, coaching and development
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and NDIS compliance
- Helping create a home that feels like a home – safe, respectful, organised and centred around the people who live there
You may already be a SIL Team Leader, House Leader or Senior Support Worker ready for your next step.
What matters most is that you're a capable disability professional who can combine warmth with leadership.
You're someone who can build rapport with participants while also having the confidence to guide staff, address issues when they arise and maintain professional standards.
Ideally, you'll bring:
-
Strong experience working in disability support, preferably within SIL
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising Support Workers
- Confidence with personal care, manual handling, mobility support and hoisting
- Experience implementing behaviour support strategies
- Good working knowledge of NDIS quality, safeguarding and documentation requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good judgement and the ability to remain calm when things don't go to plan
- Strong organisation and follow-through
- A genuine commitment to participant choice, dignity and independence
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes ownership, cares about doing things properly and wants to build a great team around the people we support.
Sapphire Support is an established registered NDIS provider based on the Sunshine Coast.
We're large enough to provide the systems, training and management support you need, while still being small enough for our leaders to know our participants and staff.
As a Sapphire Team Leader, you'll have:
-
A permanent leadership position with an established local NDIS provider
- Ongoing support from our Client Services and Operations team
- Leadership coaching and mentoring
- Ongoing professional development and training
- The opportunity to genuinely shape the culture and performance of your house team
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Opportunities to continue developing your career within disability services
We value Compassion, Quality, Transparency and Individuality – not just in how we support participants, but in how we work with each other.
- Full Australian working rights
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or equivalent relevant qualification; nursing qualifications also welcomed
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Current driver's licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Relevant manual handling and medication competencies/certification
- Blue Card where required/preferred for the service
If you're an experienced disability professional looking for the next step – or an existing Team Leader looking for an organisation where you can be genuinely connected to your team and participants – we'd like to hear from you.
