Honeysuckle Garden is seeking a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Apprentice Horticulturist to join our Mosman Garden Centre.
This is a full-time, paid two-year apprenticeship combining practical garden-centre experience with TAFE NSW training. You will work towards dual qualifications in Nursery Operations and Horticulture while learning from a knowledgeable team of experienced horticulturists.
You’ll develop practical plant-care skills while also learning how to provide excellent service and gardening advice to customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Caring for plants through watering, feeding, pruning and pest management
- Monitoring plant health and learning to identify pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies
- Assisting customers with friendly service and practical gardening advice
- Learning to recommend suitable plants and garden products
- Receiving, labelling, displaying and maintaining nursery stock
- Helping keep the garden centre clean, safe and beautifully presented
- Assisting with point-of-sale service and customer orders
- Completing TAFE training, assignments and practical assessments
- Participating in occasional training at other Honeysuckle Garden locations

Previous horticultural experience is helpful but not essential. This position may suit a school leaver, someone beginning their working career or a person looking to establish a career in horticulture.
Important Information
- Honeysuckle Garden operates 363 days per year, so regular weekend and some public-holiday work are part of the position
- Training may occasionally take place at our Turramurra Garden Centre or Dural production nursery
- Applicants must be willing and able to travel between Honeysuckle locations when required

Honeysuckle Garden is a long-established, family-operated Sydney nursery business with garden centres in Mosman and Turramurra and a production nursery in Dural.
Our Mosman Garden Centre is a green oasis supported by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team. As an apprentice, you will gain valuable experience in plant care, garden-centre operations, customer service and horticultural sales.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have developed strong practical skills and a solid foundation for a long-term career in the nursery and horticulture industry.
