Back2it Sports Physiotherapy provides evidence-based physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation and gym-based rehabilitation from an integrated clinic and fully equipped 400-square-metre gym facility.
We work with athletes, active individuals, post-operative patients and members of the general community. Our approach combines clinical assessment, hands-on treatment, exercise prescription, progressive loading and objective return-to-sport testing.
About the position
The successful applicant will manage a varied physiotherapy caseload and deliver treatment in both our consultation rooms and gym environment.
The role is suited to a physiotherapist who enjoys active rehabilitation and is comfortable progressing patients from initial assessment and treatment through to strength development, return to running, return to sport and long-term injury prevention.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments of musculoskeletal, sporting and post-operative conditions.
- Develop evidence-based diagnoses, treatment plans and rehabilitation programs.
- Deliver appropriate manual therapy and other physiotherapy interventions.
- Prescribe, demonstrate and supervise therapeutic exercise.
- Design and progress gym-based strength and conditioning rehabilitation programs.
- Conduct objective strength, movement and return-to-sport testing.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans according to clinical findings and functional outcomes.
- Educate patients about their condition, rehabilitation, injury prevention and self-management.
- Maintain accurate, timely and professional clinical records.
- Communicate appropriately with general practitioners, surgeons, coaches and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical discussions, professional development and quality-improvement activities.
- Comply with AHPRA requirements, professional standards, privacy obligations and workplace policies.
Essential requirements
- A recognised bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in physiotherapy.
- Current general registration as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or eligibility to obtain general registration before commencing employment.
- At least one year of relevant physiotherapy or closely related clinical experience.
- Demonstrated experience or a strong foundation in musculoskeletal assessment and rehabilitation.
- Ability to prescribe and supervise progressive exercise and gym-based rehabilitation.
- Sound clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a clinical caseload safely and professionally.
- Ability to obtain any employment screening checks required for the position.
- Appropriate Australian work rights by the commencement date.
Desirable attributes
- Experience in sports physiotherapy or sporting injury management.
- Experience with return-to-running or return-to-sport rehabilitation.
- Experience using objective testing equipment such as force plates or dynamometry.
- Strength and conditioning knowledge.
- Sports-team or on-field injury-management experience.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
