About the role
As the Chief Steward, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight to a state-wide team, ensuring the effective monitoring and control of greyhound racing across NSW in line with the Greyhound Racing Act 2017. You will play a critical role in upholding integrity, leading stewarding operations, and driving compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and standards.
This role includes travel to on-track events, supporting operational activities, chairing major race meetings and overseeing stewarding activities to ensure fair and compliant racing. It also leads and oversees disciplinary processes and provides expert advise on stewarding and regulatory matters to internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You will demonstrate extensive experience as a Senior Racing Steward or similar, with a strong understanding of relevant legislations, ideally including the Greyhound Racing Act 2017. The role requires a high level of integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
As this role involves travel, you will hold a current driver’s licence and have a willingness to travel as required, and be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
