Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, reliable team member to join us as a Casual Doggy Daycare Attendant on a temporary basis from mid‑August through the end of September, with potential to extend beyond this period depending on business needs.
You’ll be responsible for the daily care, supervision, and enrichment of dogs in our facility. You’ll ensure their safety, encourage positive social behaviours, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment. This is a hands‑on role that requires passion for dogs, physical stamina, and strong teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and interact with groups of dogs during playtime to ensure safe and positive interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of play areas and staff areas within the building.
- Feed dogs and monitor dog behaviour in group settings
- Manage check-in and check-out processes, including customer communication and dog handling.
- Observe and record any unusual behaviours or health issues, reporting them to management promptly.
- Provide affection, enrichment, and mental stimulation for all dogs in care.
- Perform daily admin tasks (emails, calls, record keeping, data entry).
- Conduct temperament assessments.
- Capture photos/videos and create social media content.
Requirements
- Certificate II in Animal Studies (or equivalent)
- Ability to handle multiple dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, and lifting up to 15kg.
- Availability to do opens/closes roughly 3-5 days a week (10-15hrs).
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Basic social media content creation skills (Facebook & Instagram).
- Current driver’s licence.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
- CPR/First Aid certification for pets is a plus.
Schedule
Rotating roster from Monday-Friday (hours from 7am-6:30pm).
Closed on weekends and public holidays.
Temporary contract period: Mid‑August to end of September, with potential extension.
