Moonee Ponds Smash Repairs is a well-established company located in Moonee Ponds. We specialise in vehicle body repairs, collision repairs, panel replacement, restoration work and mechanical repairs across a diverse range of vehicles.
We are seeking a well experienced Panel Beater who has the following attributes. You must also be a team player, have a positive attitude, and be responsible.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum (plus superannuation)

The Roles
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Inspecting damaged vehicles and assessing repair requirements
· Removing damaged panels, parts, trims, upholstery and accessories to gain repair access
· Repairing dents and damaged panels using appropriate panel beating techniques
· Straightening vehicle frames and damaged body components using mechanical and hydraulic equipment
· Replacing severely damaged panels and vehicle body sections with new or recycled parts
· Cutting, shaping and joining replacement sections using welding equipment
· Applying fillers and carrying out grinding, sanding and finishing work to prepare surfaces for painting
· Fitting repaired or replacement panels and refitting body hardware including door locks, mouldings and trims
· Ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and workplace quality standards
· Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and serviceable condition
· Assisting with restoration and custom vehicle projects where required.
The position Requires
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success within a similar role or work environment.
- AQF Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent qualification, or at least three years of relevant industry experience
- Proven experience working as a Panel Beater in a busy workshop environment
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair techniques, panel replacement and welding procedures
- Experience repairing metal, fiberglass and plastic vehicle body components
- Ability to read repair specifications and accurately assess vehicle damage
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and able to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
