Role description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the organisation's financial operations, providing accurate reporting, and delivering valuable financial insights to stakeholders.
Working across multiple systems, including Oracle, Aged Care, and Patient Information systems, you will contribute to key accounting processes while supporting both operational and strategic finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and month-end accounting tasks, including journals and reconciliations of general ledger and sub-systems
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations within Oracle
- Prepare and issue debtor invoices across Aged Care, Patient Information, and Oracle systems
- Manage debtor balances, respond to client queries, and follow up outstanding accounts
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable
- Analyse management reports, investigating variances and discrepancies
- Assist in preparing financial reports, acquittals, and compliance documentation
- Support residents and families with financial processes, including Centrelink submissions and fee enquiries
- Maintain and reconcile Resident Trust Accounts
- Account for leased assets and associated financial arrangements
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring accurate and complete documentation
- Contribute to the development and improvement of finance policies, procedures, and systems
About you
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting standards and GAAP
- Experience in financial reconciliation, reporting, and general accounting tasks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple systems and priorities effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise sensitively with clients and families
