POSITION
Full-time Cook position available in Fremantle, WA.
SKILLS
The successful candidate will hold at least a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
qualification, together with at least 12 months of relevant work experience as a Cook. The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
- Experiences in similar role required
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skill
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals while maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and food safety standards.Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes, quality standards and customer requirements
- Preparing ingredients, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats and other food preparation tasks
- Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients before use
- Seasoning, cooking, portioning and presenting meals consistently
- Regulating the temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Preparing food to accommodate special dietary requirements and customer needs
- Coordinating food preparation to ensure meals are ready within required service times
- Monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients and assisting with ordering supplies when required
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene, allergen and temperature-control standards
- Keeping kitchen equipment, food preparation areas and workstations clean, organised and safe
- Assisting with menu preparation and development where required
- Working collaboratively with other kitchen and café staff to ensure efficient day-to-day operationsThis role suits someone who is organised, reliable and passionate about food preparation and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation in a busy hospitality environment.
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
