Water Corporation is seeking an experienced Analyst - Financial Performance to join our Group Financial Management team within Finance. In this role, you'll partner with business leaders across the organisation to deliver high-quality financial analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting services that support strategic decision-making and business performance. You'll play a key role in helping business units understand their financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure sound financial management practices across Water Corporation.

What the role will involve:
As an Analyst - Financial Performance, you'll support business leaders by providing financial insights and advice that help drive informed decisions and operational success.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and analysing monthly financial and business performance reports
-
Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes across assigned business areas
-
Monitoring financial performance and providing insights to support decision-making
-
Partnering with stakeholders to provide financial advice and guidance
-
Identifying opportunities to improve business performance and financial outcomes
-
Reviewing capital investment proposals and assessing financial implications
-
Ensuring compliance with Water Corporation's financial policies, standards and procedures
-
Contributing to process improvement initiatives and more efficient ways of working
Business performance
-
Provide a comprehensive range of financial & accounting services within the assigned business areas, incorporating all budgeting, forecasting, business performance reviews, analysis and reporting.

Preparation and analysis of monthly financial management reports and Business Performance Reports.

Provide advice on finance and accounting issues as required.
-
Undertake analysis, monitoring and reporting on financial performance of individual business areas, as required.

Identify strategies for improvement in business performance in assigned business areas.

Review and provide advice on capital investment proposals and the financial/commercial implications on business performance, as required.

Provide guidance to Head of Business Units, Section Managers and other personnel on financial policies, processes and procedures to facilitate the effective operation of the Groups/BUs business.
Financial & Process Management
- Ensure compliance with Water Corporation’s Financial Policies, Standards & Procedures.

Contribute to the optimisation of Services Provided, Core Processes and Support Processes as defined in and in accordance with Water Corporation’s accountabilities.
Key skills and experience:
You are a proactive finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and using data and financial insights to influence business outcomes.
You will demonstrate:

Degree level qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
-
Considerable experience in management accounting, financial analysis and business performance reporting in a multi-functional organisation
-
Relevant experience in budgeting, forecasting and other financial management tasks
-
Experience working with financial systems such as SAP FICO and other relevant modules
-
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office packages
-
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
Desirable experience:
The following experience will be highly regarded:

Membership, or eligibility for membership, of a recognised professional accounting body (CPA or CA)

Proficiency in financial modelling would be an added advantage
-
Experience in large and complex organisations
-
Experience driving process and system improvements
-
Strong presentation and influencing skills
