NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYF-MH) provide multidisciplinary Mental Health services to children, young people and their families across the Penrith, Hawkesbury, Blue Mountains and Lithgow local government areas. It delivers targeted programs from perinatal through to youth-focused care, including school-based and family-focused services, for those experiencing moderate to severe Mental Health challenges that affect wellbeing, relationships and daily functioning. CYF-MH works in partnership with families and their support systems to provide safe, person-centered, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care.
Getting on Track in Time (Got It!) is a school-based early intervention program supporting children with their social and emotional wellbeing. The program works collaboratively with children, parents/carers and school staff and aims to prevent the emergence of Mental Health and behavioral concerns later in life and to improve general well-being and educational outcomes. Services provided includes intake and referral, universal health promotion through whole school interventions and targeted clinical interventions which are adapted to meet the needs of the targeted school community and participating families.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Allied Health Assistant to join the Got It! (Getting On Track In Time) team at Nepean Hospital.
Working under the direction and supervision of the Got It! Clinical Lead, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of evidence-based early intervention Mental Health services for young children, their families, educators and schools. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to positive Mental Health outcomes during the early years of a child's development and help build stronger, more resilient families and communities.
The Allied Health Assistant supports the multidisciplinary Got It! team by assisting with the delivery of clinical and non-clinical activities that enhance the care provided to children and families. Working collaboratively with clinicians, schools and community partners, you will help facilitate programs that promote social and emotional wellbeing, strengthen parenting capacity and support children's successful participation at home, in early learning settings and at school.
