We're looking for a Safety and Human Resources Administrator to join our team — someone who's organised, approachable, and committed to learning and keeping our workplace safe and our people supported across all areas of the business.
Role Overview
As part of a small team within the Mackay branch, this role is provides assistance across the Dowdens Group and is multifaceted.
Ideally suited to a junior or entry level applicant - if you enjoy safety and human resources, have the ability to think on your feet, learn on the go and like a good laugh we encourage you to apply.
Incorporating safety aspects such as risk assessments and incident reporting as well as HR administration orientated tasks across recruitment, onboarding, training, employee engagement and site compliance divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the administration of managing end to end employee life cycle
- Site compliance and training - work with Supervisors and Managers to schedule and coordinate training and site compliance, including inductions for a wide range of sites throughout Queensland - from mining to local councils and commercial clients.
- Fostering and promoting the Dowdens Group culture, team building and inclusion of all employees
- Assisting in the implementation Safety and HR processes, systems and initiatives
- General Safety and HR related administration and data entry
Eligibility
- A strong background in administration, time management and compliance - where you've juggled priorities and delivered results
- Strong technology skills -confidence in using a variety of systems and a quick learner when it comes to new platforms and portals
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
