What you’ll be doing:
From day one, you’ll be the first friendly face our Y people and visitors see, greeting everyone professionally and handling calls with a calm, can-do attitude.
This isn’t a standard reception role. You’ll:
- Respond to enquiries and direct them to the right teams (sometimes under pressure)
- Manage multiple priorities, including urgent travel bookings and daily administrative tasks
- Keep records and systems updated and be confident using Microsoft Office and booking tools
- Proactively look for ways to help when things are quiet, and willing to take on tasks perhaps a little outside the box
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in all communication
Hours: Part-time (approx. 27 hours per week -
Monday - Friday
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Create a welcoming but professional environment for staff, visitors and guests
- Can handle a mix of routine and ad-hoc tasks without getting overwhelmed
- Have experience in reception or administration (1+ year desirable)
- Are highly organised and can quickly pick up new systems and processes
- Are comfortable managing urgent requests, including last-minute travel bookings
- Bring a mature, resilient approach to daily challenges with a willingness to learn
