Your new role:
Join Metro South Health's Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development teams and play a critical role in supporting undergraduate nursing and/or midwifery students to thrive during their clinical placements. As a Clinical Facilitator, you will bridge the gap between theory and practice, helping students develop the skills, confidence and professional behaviours required for contemporary healthcare delivery. You will:
Facilitate, supervise and assess nursing and/or midwifery students undertaking clinical placements across a range of healthcare settings.
Provide coaching, mentoring and real-time feedback to support student learning, competence and professional growth.
Collaborate with education providers, clinical teams and placement coordinators to deliver high-quality learning experiences and ensure professional standards are met.
Promote safe, evidence-based and person-centred care while fostering a positive and supportive clinical learning environment.
About you:
You are an experienced Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with a passion for education, clinical excellence and developing future healthcare professionals. You enjoy mentoring others, building collaborative relationships and creating positive learning experiences that support student success. You are:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and able to demonstrate advanced contemporary clinical knowledge and practice expertise.
Experienced in facilitating, mentoring or preceptoring nursing and/or midwifery students, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and assess performance.
A strong communicator who builds productive relationships with students, educators, preceptors and multidisciplinary teams.
Committed to professional development, evidence-based practice and fostering a culture of learning, quality improvement and clinical excellence

Unit Profile
The Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Unit (NMPDU), and Nursing Practice Development Unit (NPDU) within the MSH EDNM Division supports the delivery of MSH Nursing and Midwifery Education and associated workforce priorities. The NMPDU and NPDU provide strategic and operational leadership and direction for driving educational efficiencies, supporting the nursing and midwifery professional streams to create a workforce that will meet demands of the future .
