Clinical Nurse Educator – Critical Care
Permanent Part-Time 48hrs /fortnight
John Flynn Private Hospital are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our supportive Education Team as Clinical Nurse Educator – Critical Care.
About the Role
Reporting to the Staff Development Manager, this exciting role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering both mandatory and non-mandatory education programs across the hospital, supporting the ongoing development and clinical excellence of our workforce.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate learning opportunities, competency assessment, and professional development initiatives. A strong focus of this role will be supporting critical care education and resuscitation training programs.
Key responsibilities include:

Facilitating and coordinating Basic Life Support (BLS) , Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) programs.

Coordinating and supporting Fundamentals Programs for clinical staff.

Contributing to hospital orientation and onboarding programs.

Supporting hospital competency assessment processes.

Assisting with organisation-wide education initiatives and clinical practice rollouts.

Delivering education workshops and in-service programs.

Promoting evidence-based practice and continuous professional development across the hospital.
About You
We are seeking a motivated and engaging educator with a strong critical care background and a genuine passion for developing others. You will have demonstrated clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and support learners at all levels.
Your positive attitude, ability to build effective relationships, outstanding organisational skills, and commitment to clinical excellence will be critical to your success in this role.
You will also bring

Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).

Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification (essential). Instructor credentials beneficial or willingness to work toward.

A minimum of 5 years post-registration clinical experience.

Significant experience in a critical care environment such as ICU, CCU, Emergency Department, or equivalent acute care setting.

Demonstrated ability to educate and support staff in both formal and informal learning environments.

Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or postgraduate qualifications in Education (desirable).

Experience supporting competency assessment and clinical education programs (desirable).

Excellent computer literacy across Microsoft Office applications.
