Job Description Summary
The Asset & Technical Manager – Healthcare Account is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership across asset management, engineering compliance, lifecycle planning and technical service delivery for the healthcare portfolio.
This role acts as the senior technical authority, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operation of critical hospital infrastructure. As stated in the document, the role “provides expert technical oversight, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operation of critical hospital infrastructure” .
Working closely with embedded C&W FM teams and centralised engineering resources, the Asset & Technical Manager ensures all technical services meet contractual, statutory and governance requirements.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Asset & Technical Management
Act as senior technical authority for all engineering and asset matters.
Lead asset management strategy, lifecycle planning and capital forecasting.
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations.
Oversee asset data integrity, registers, condition assessments and reporting.
Provide technical guidance on complex engineering issues and risk mitigation.
Lead engineering assurance activities including audits and inspections.
Assess asset condition, redundancy and resilience for operational continuity.
Develop lifecycle and renewal strategies aligned with client master planning.
2. Service Excellence & Technical Support
Maintain strong technical relationships with healthcare stakeholders.
Support site teams with incident response and root‑cause analysis.
Ensure consistent application of engineering standards and governance.
Attend governance and technical review meetings.
Oversee technical reporting including asset performance and compliance.
Support development and enhancement of operational and technical manuals.
3. Leadership
Lead and develop national technical and asset management capability.
Build capability in engineering compliance, analytics and lifecycle planning.
Influence operational teams to maintain high technical standards.
Foster a culture of safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
4. Financial & Commercial Management
Provide technical inputs into budgets, lifecycle forecasts and capital planning.
Identify engineering efficiencies and cost‑effective asset strategies.
Support commercial decision‑making through technical risk assessments.
Ensure defensible technical compliance reporting.
5. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Introduce engineering best practice and modern asset methodologies.
Improve technical systems, tools, asset data platforms and processes.
Maintain technical standards, playbooks and governance frameworks.
Drive national consistency in technical service delivery.
Contribute technical insights to future infrastructure and master planning.
Experience
Extensive senior experience in asset management, engineering services or technical FM in complex, critical environments.
Demonstrated capability in lifecycle planning, asset strategy and engineering compliance.
Experience leading technical teams across multisite portfolios.
Strong stakeholder management and technical advisory skills.
Healthcare or other critical operational environment experience is highly desirable.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong understanding of statutory engineering compliance and regulatory frameworks.
Advanced capability in asset analytics, lifecycle modelling and technical reporting.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office capability.
