Where you'll be working
An exciting permanent opportunity is available to join the Health Promotion team at Western Sydney Local Health District and help improve the health and wellbeing of communities in Western Sydney.
This role supports our Smoking and Vaping Prevention portfolio and will work on initiatives that contribute to the reduction and prevention of tobacco and e-cigarette related harms and promote health equity. You will work collaboratively with partners on a range of evidence‑informed initiatives and projects to achieve population‑level outcomes.

You will bring a health or related professional background, with experience or interest in:
- Population health program delivery and management
- Health equity and the social determinants of health
- Evidence‑based tobacco and vaping prevention strategies
- Working with priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse communities

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Bachelor or higher degree in any of the following – Health Promotion, Public Health, Communications/Marketing, Education or other relevant degree.
Selection Criteria:
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications at graduate level or above in: population health, health promotion, public health, or other relevant areas.
2. Demonstrated skills and experience in planning, implementing, evaluating, and disseminating population health initiatives aligned with health promotion principles
3. Proven ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships across sectors, including community organisations, health services, government and other agencies, and with community, to facilitate collaborative health promotion action.
4. High-level written and verbal communication and computer skills including the ability to prepare reports, engage stakeholders and contribute to advocacy and knowledge dissemination.
5. Demonstrated ability to analyse and work within complex systems, settings and policy environments to influence and implement population-level change
6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse communities, particularly Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally and linguistically diverse populations, using culturally safe and equity-focused approaches
7. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing competing priorities and contributing positively to team culture
8. Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
