KŌA Bar Manager
KŌA is a new premium matcha, coffee and wellness café built around quality, intention and an elevated everyday experience. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to become a key part of our founding team and help bring the KŌA experience to life.
As our Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the beverage side of the café, with a strong focus on ceremonial-grade matcha, specialty coffee and exceptional consistency. You will also play an important leadership role, supporting the wider team and ensuring every customer receives the high standard of service KŌA is built around.
What you'll be responsible for
- Preparing high-quality ceremonial matcha and specialty coffee to KŌA standards
- Maintaining consistency across all drinks, recipes and presentation
- Leading the daily operation of the bar
- Training and mentoring team members in matcha preparation, coffee and customer service
- Ensuring the KŌA sweetness scale and beverage standards are followed consistently
- Managing bar stock, equipment and cleanliness
- Supporting opening and closing procedures
- Supervising the team during shifts and assisting with day-to-day operations
- Providing warm, knowledgeable and attentive customer service
- Helping develop and refine KŌA's beverage menu and service standards
- Setting the example for professionalism, presentation and attention to detail
What we're looking for
- Previous barista experience, preferably in a specialty coffee environment
- Strong knowledge and genuine appreciation of quality coffee
- Interest or experience in matcha, with a willingness to learn KŌA's ceremonial preparation methods
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency
- Confident leadership and communication skills
- A warm, polished and professional approach to customers
- Someone who takes pride in presentation, cleanliness and quality
- Reliable, organised and comfortable taking responsibility
- A genuine interest in wellness, food, hospitality and premium customer experiences

Pay: $30.00 – $36.00 per hour
