About the Role
NewCo Digital is a premium full-service agency that engineers digital ecosystems for founder-led brands across hospitality, health, construction and more. We're looking for a Social Media & Content Strategist to own brand voice and visual direction across our client roster - someone who can strategise content, direct a shoot, and turn ideas into creative that performs.
This is a hands-on role, not a coordination-only one. Roughly 60% of your week is execution - building email sends, scheduling and engaging on LinkedIn, drafting content with our AI tooling, and assembling reports. The other 40% is account management - keeping clients informed, approvals moving, and contractors on track. The systems and templates already exist; you'll run them well and make clients feel looked after.
What you'll actually do
Execute (most of your week):
- Build and send email campaigns in Brevo; keep automations healthy
- Schedule LinkedIn content and run daily engagement across client accounts
- Produce first-draft captions and posts using our AI brand agents, then sharpen them against detailed brand systems
- Populate content calendars from approved strategies
- Assemble monthly performance reports from our templates and flag what's worth changing
- Coordinate ad campaigns with our media buyer - briefs in, creative over, results back
Manage (the rest):
- Client comms day-to-day: approvals, feedback rounds, check-ins (founders stay on strategy and relationships; you keep delivery humming)
- Coordinate our contractor bench - editors, designers, media buyers - through Asana
- Own deadlines across your accounts; spot problems before clients do
What we're looking for
- 1-3 years in an agency, digital marketing, or campaign coordination role - you've done the work, not just watched it
- Hands-on with at least two of: email platforms (HubSpot), social scheduling tools, Meta Ads Manager, Canva
- Strong writing - you can take an AI draft or a brief and turn it into something a client approves first round
- Genuinely organised - you run on systems, checklists, and follow-through, not memory
- Comfortable being client-facing over email and calls
- Comfortable using AI tools daily in your workflow
- Bonus (not required): experience with property, construction, hospitality, or NDIS-sector marketing
You don't need to be a senior strategist. You need to be reliable, sharp with details, able to ship, and good with people.
What you'll get
- Real ownership of client accounts in a fast-growing agency - accountability, visible results, no cog work
- Systems-first environment: documented SOPs, templates, brand guidelines, and AI tooling so you're never guessing
- Flexible hybrid work; we care about output, not hours at a desk
- Growth path: this role grows into a senior account manager position as the agency scales
- $35-40/hr depending on experience (contractor), reviewed at 3 months
How to apply
- Your CV
- A short note (5 sentences max) on the most complex thing you've kept organised - work or otherwise
- One example of something you've shipped - a campaign, an email sequence, a content calendar, anything real.
Applications without the note and example won't be considered - they're the interview before the interview.
Application Question(s):
- Which tools have you personally used to build or send campaigns?
- Are you based in Melbourne and able to work hybrid?
- Describe the most complex thing you've kept organised - work or otherwise. (5 sentences max)
- Link or attach one example of something you've shipped - a campaign, email sequence, content calendar, post series. Anything real.
- How do you currently use AI tools in your work? (2-3 sentences)
