With increasing customer demand and ongoing business growth, the company requires an experienced Retail Manager to oversee store operations and support continued operational performance.
Position Overview
The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Chubby Buns Burgers, ensuring smooth business operations, strong customer service delivery, effective staff management, and compliance with operational standards. The role requires hands-on leadership within a busy hospitality environment and accountability for financial performance, inventory management, staffing, customer engagement, and operational compliance.
This is a senior operational role suited to an experienced hospitality or retail management professional who can lead a team within a structured, performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Determining product mix, stock levels, and customer service standards to support efficient business operations
- Developing and implementing purchasing, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximise sales and profitability
- Coordinating marketing and promotional activities to strengthen customer engagement and brand visibility
- Monitoring sales performance, operational costs, and financial performance indicators
- Maintaining accurate records relating to inventory, sales transactions, and operational activities
- Managing recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, and rostering of staff members
- Ensuring high standards of food quality, customer service, and workplace presentation are consistently maintained
- Monitoring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food safety regulations, and company procedures
- Handling customer enquiries, complaints, and service issues in a professional and timely manner
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to overall business growth and operational efficiency
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong leadership and staff management capability with experience coordinating teams and rosters
- Sound understanding of inventory management, cost control, and hospitality operations
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-volume customer service environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
Preferred Qualifications
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications
- Current food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience within burger restaurants, fast food operations, cafés, or hospitality businesses will be highly regarded
Work Environment
The Retail Manager role is operational and hands-on, requiring active involvement in daily restaurant activities alongside staff members. The position requires strong leadership capability, effective time management, and the ability to maintain operational consistency within a busy hospitality environment.
