About the role
To prepare accurate cost estimates by analysing proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents to support profitable project delivery at North Coast Fencing.
Key Tasks
– Gather proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents to prepare estimates
– Identify labour, material and time requirements by studying proposals and blueprints
– Compute costs by analysing labour, material and time requirements accurately
– Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
– Present prepared estimates by assembling numerical and descriptive information clearly
– Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data regularly
– Fulfil other duties as required by management
Responsibilities
– Prepare and submit accurate BOQs and cost plans within agreed timeframes
– Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to verify pricing
– Maintain estimating records and cost database
– Support the commercial team with tender submissions and variation pricing

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in estimating, quantity surveying or construction management – as acceptable to NCF
- Clean driving licence (essential)
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a construction or trade estimating role
- Experience preparing BOQs and cost plans for fencing, civil or building projects desirable
Skills & Competencies
- Quotient or similar estimating/quoting software
- Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Understanding of fencing materials, labour rates and site conditions
