Lifestyle & Independence Support Worker
Location: Old Reynella, SA & surrounding southern suburbs
Hours: Casual (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday)
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and dedicated Support Worker / Care Worker to assist a gentleman living in Old Reynella.
This is not a traditional "do everything for the client" role. Instead, your goal will be to work with him to prioritise his social engagement, choice, and overall quality of life. You will be an enabler of independence, helping him stay active in his community, maintain his home routines, and live life on his own terms.
Key Responsibilities
Social & Community Engagement: Supporting the client to access the local community, attend social outings, and maintain meaningful connections.
Promoting Independence: Encouraging and assisting the client to perform daily tasks himself (reablement approach) rather than doing it all for him.
Quality of Life Support: Assisting with life admin, accompanying him on errands, or discovering new local activities.
Domestic Assistance: Helping with light household tasks to ensure a comfortable, safe, and clean living environment.
Transport Services: Providing safe transport for community access, social events, or appointments.
Schedule & Availability
This role requires consistent availability across three weekdays:
About You
You are a naturally positive, patient, and person-centred individual who believes that care should be empowering, not restrictive. You know how to strike the perfect balance between offering a helping hand and stepping back to let a client lead.
Requirements & Qualifications
Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support, Disability, or relevant community services experience.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or National Police Check.
Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.
Valid Australian Driver’s Licence with a reliable, clean, and comprehensively insured vehicle (essential for community access).
Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older adults or individuals with disabilities.
Full working rights in Australia.
What We Offer
Meaningful Work: A deeply rewarding role where your primary focus is a client's happiness, autonomy, and social fulfillment.
Consistent Roster: Stable hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Competitive Pay: Paid under the SCHADS Award with applicable allowances (including km reimbursement for client transport).
