Join our Fleet team in this newly created position, delivering fleet management and procurement support services that help ensure Council's fleet operations remain efficient, cost effective and aligned to operational demand.
Working across fleet systems, procurement and asset management, you'll use telematics data, asset analytics and industry insights to support informed decision-making, efficient plant allocation and whole-of-life fleet management.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the management, integrity and optimisation of fleet telematics systems, including GPS tracking, hardware lifecycle and system improvements
Analysing telematics and operational data to identify utilisation trends, inefficiencies and cost saving opportunities across fleet assets
Providing evidence based recommendations to improve fleet performance, compliance and asset lifecycle outcomes
Coordinating fleet and plant procurement activities, including market research, quotations, tender processes, supplier engagement, evaluations and contract establishment
Monitoring supplier performance and supporting vendor relationship management to achieve value for money and service delivery outcomes
Managing fleet related financial and administrative processes, including asset acquisition, hire and lease arrangements, disposals and reporting
Preparing reports, performance metrics and data analysis to support fleet management planning and operational decision making
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting the development and implementation of fleet systems, procedures and processes
About you
Ideally you’ll have experience in a similar role supporting fleet operations, fleet systems, procurement or asset management functions.
You'll bring:
Well developed experience using vehicle telematics systems, data analytics and reporting tools
Knowledge of fleet operations and asset management principles across heavy vehicles, light vehicles and plant
Experience using technology systems and software to support operational decision making
Experience in fleet procurement processes, supplier management and asset lifecycle management
An understanding of financial administration processes relating to fleet procurement, asset acquisition and disposal
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to use data to influence decisions and identify improvement opportunities
Well developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Commercial awareness and a continuous improvement mindset
Experience working with fleet management systems, telematics or IVMS platform would be highly regarded
Licence Requirements
Current C Class driver's licence
HR Class driver's licence is desirable
