The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Executive (Senior Legal Secretary/Executive Assistant) to join our Melbourne Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources (PEER) team on a full time, permanent basis.
The global projects industry is in an exciting time of change and opportunity, from technology advancements, infrastructure developments, and a drive towards net-zero to a widespread focus on climate change.
As a Practice Executive you will provide high level business support to 3 Partners within the PEER team. You will assist with the development of comprehensive knowledge of clients, markets and work streams.
Some key areas of responsibility will be:
- Practice & Client Management
- Extensive Diary & Travel Management
- Monitoring and managing inboxes for Partners including filing emails
- Preparing monthly bills and reconciling expenses
- Business Development/Marketing
- Client reporting
Our Practice Executives play a pivotal role within the firm, ensuring that support services to legal staff are delivered appropriately and within a timely manner. You will work closely with our dedicated hub of Team Assistants to complete any administrative based tasks.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:
- Demonstrable experience as a Legal Secretary.
- High degree of initiative, pro-activity and problem solving skills, with a willingness to take ownership for the completion of tasks/projects and deliver innovative solutions to improve systems or work practices.
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to understand the commercial drivers of a legal practice, interpret data and apply client knowledge when supporting partners with practice management.
- A client focused approach including the ability to grow a network of professional relationships with counterparts in client organisations as well as with internal stakeholders and colleagues around the firm.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong written communication skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to draft correspondence, presentations, pitch documents and slide packs quickly and accurately.
