ABOUT THE POSITION:
As a Venue Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality events across Museums Victoria's iconic venues. Working as part of the Venues & Events team, you will support the safe and effective installation, operation and de-installation of a diverse range of client-led events. You will help ensure events are delivered smoothly, safely and in accordance with venue, industry and legislative requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction and exceptional service delivery.
Some of the key duties include:

Coordinating venue operations during event bump-in, event delivery and bump-out periods.

Implementing and communicating event documentation, including floor plans, event orders and venue procedures.

Monitoring event activities to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, venue policies and emergency procedures.

Acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors and visitors, resolving operational issues and supporting positive event outcomes.

Overseeing venue-related services such as parking, lighting, audio visual requirements, waste management and equipment hire to ensure seamless event delivery.

Monitoring venue conditions and completing basic maintenance tasks to ensure facilities are well maintained and protected.
The successful applicant will have:

Experience working in an events venue, exhibition, entertainment or similar operational environment.

Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements, risk management and venue compliance obligations.

Experience interpreting and implementing event plans and documentation for large-scale events.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues.

Strong organisational skills, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other workplace systems.
OTHER INFORMATION
This role is a casual position with an hourly rate of $44.18 (inclusive of casual loading). To be considered applicants must have flexible availability across weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
