Summary
We are looking for a versatile Project Manager to join our team to support clients in both Industry and Defence. This position is the key point of contact, internally and for the customer, driving projects forward while managing key stakeholders, and ensuring project/s stay within budget and on schedule, all while maintaining high quality standards.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement. Interstate and international travel may be required from time to time, and remote working arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
Systematiq is a procurement, consulting, and project management specialist company working predominately in the Defence industry. We provide professional capabilities to clients across their project life cycle from strategy procurement, and planning, through to project delivery.

Lead the execution of projects from initial setup through to completion, understanding both the project scope of work and contract to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Develop, update and manage project budgets and schedules.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders, both internally and with the client to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
- Manage client expectations.
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams within the project/s, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Management of project subcontractors, including subcontractor scope, budget, reporting requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct thorough project risk analyses, identifying potential issues or opportunities, developing effective mitigation strategies to protect project success.
- Development, review and submission of project management documentation.
- Reviewing and submitting project technical deliverables according to the scope of work and schedule.
- Contribute to internal budget forecasting and resourcing.
- Use project management tools to monitor and report on project status to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and enhance client relationships by delivering outstanding project outcomes, liaising with clients to understand their needs and identify opportunities for value creation.
- Communicating effectively and developing relationships with clients and colleagues as well as developing networks externally and internally subject to Systematiq ethical, privacy and security policies.
- Support developing, drafting and submitting bids and proposals as well as client presentations.
Successful applicants must have:

Tertiary degree in Business or Project Management, or a related field, or substantial relevant experience.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within Defence.
- Experience throughout Defence, Government and/or Manufacturing domains.
- Police Check and Security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- PMP or PRINCE2.
- Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software including MS Office with specific reference to PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word.
- Clear and concise communication.
- Demonstrated leadership in project environments, with a strategic approach to critical thinking and problem solving.
- Flexible and adaptable
- Ability to prioritise.
Desirable:

Defence / Procurement Methods / Tender Response Preparation (ASDEFCON) experience.
