Operations Coordinator
This role is ideal for someone who is keen to build their career in operations, has a positive can-do attitude, and is willing to learn, take on new challenges and get involved wherever needed. You’ll be responsible in supporting the day-to-day management of branch operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, equipment utilisation and customer service.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working across both the office and the yard—regularly checking equipment, stock and dispatch readiness while supporting drivers, workshop personnel and customers.
We’re looking for someone who is ready to step up, take ownership and build their leadership experience. You’ll bring a positive can-do attitude, a willingness to learn and the confidence to get involved, take on new challenges and grow alongside the business.
You will also be willing and able to step in as a backup driver when required to help keep deliveries, collections and equipment movements on schedule.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and managing daily driver, labour and equipment schedules
- Coordinating deliveries, collections, mobilisations and equipment movements
- Prioritising RPM-owned equipment and helping minimise overtime and cross-hire costs
- Supporting the management of the branch’s out-of-hours roster
- Conducting regular yard checks to ensure equipment, stock and workspaces are clean, organised and dispatch-ready
- Confirming equipment and site readiness before deliveries and installations
- Working closely with the workshop team to prioritise equipment repairs and turnaround
- Supporting weekly stocktakes and maintaining accurate inventory records
- Supporting drivers with day-to-day operational concerns
- Building positive relationships with customers, suppliers and transport providers
- Working closely with the sales team to confirm equipment availability and meet delivery requirements
- Completing on-hire, off-hire, delivery and collection entries accurately and on time
- Booking external transport and raising relevant purchase orders
- Scheduling and managing messages for VMS boards
- Developing your knowledge of fleet management, equipment maintenance, logistics operations and cost control.
- Looking for practical ways to improve day-to-day operations and support the wider team.
- Championing RPM Hire’s safety culture and ensuring incidents and hazards are reported promptly
- Some knowledge or experience in fleet management, equipment maintenance and logistics operations, with a willingness to further develop your understanding of cost control.
What you will bring
- Experience in operations, transport, logistics, equipment hire or a similar fast-paced environment
- Strong scheduling, organisation and resource-planning skills
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work in the yard when required
- Some knowledge or experience in fleet, equipment and logistics operations, with a willingness to continue developing your knowledge
- Confidence communicating with drivers, customers and the wider team, with a willingness to build your skills in handling operational escalations
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent attention to detail across administration, data entry and reporting
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a positive can-do attitude
- Proficiency with fleet management software and scheduling tools.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations and best practices in logistics and equipment hire.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

- A current unrestricted driver’s licence appropriate to the branch fleet
- Willingness and ability to act as a backup driver when required
