We are looking for an experienced Trainer & Assessor, or someone looking to take the next step into training, to join our team and play a key role in the development of our field workforce.
Based within our purpose-built Training Centre and working across operational sites, you will deliver technical training and undertake workplace competency assessments for employees and contractor personnel involved in the construction and maintenance of our gas distribution network. Your contribution will help ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence and, most importantly, the safety of our people and communities.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical field experience with your passion for developing others. You'll be responsible for delivering engaging technical training, conducting workplace assessments and supporting the ongoing development of training and assessment materials.
Working closely with supervisors, operational teams and subject matter experts, you'll help ensure our workforce remains competent, compliant and equipped to perform their roles safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical training and workplace competency assessments for ATCO employees and contractor personnel.
- Prepare training resources, equipment and materials to support effective learning outcomes.
- Partner with operational leaders to ensure training and assessment activities meet compliance and business requirements.
- Contribute to the development, review and continuous improvement of training and assessment materials.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure current operational knowledge is reflected in all training activities.
About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
A Certificate III qualification or relevant licence in one of the following disciplines:
- Utilities
- Civil Construction
- Plumbing and Gas Fitting
- Demonstrated experience within gas distribution, utilities, civil construction or a similar operational environment.
- Strong technical knowledge, commitment to safety and ability to promote best practice in the field.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) highly regarded, however candidates looking to transition into training are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and computer skills, supported by a current C Class Driver's Licence.
