Job Description
Rocky Ridge Brewing Co is looking for a full-time Chef to join the kitchen team at our Duncraig venue.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Chef to be part of one of WA’s leading independent craft breweries. Our Duncraig venue is a fast-paced hospitality environment focused on quality food, great beer, strong service, and creating memorable guest experiences.
As Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food, maintaining kitchen standards, supporting service delivery, and working closely with the Head Chef and venue team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items to Rocky Ridge Brewing Co standards.
- Ensure all meals are prepared consistently, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Assist with daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, cleaning, and pack-down.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Maintain strong food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Follow recipes, kitchen procedures, and food safety requirements.
- Assist with stock rotation, storage, and inventory control.
- Minimise food waste and support cost control measures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
- Comply with food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety, and venue policies.
- Assist with preparation for functions, events, specials, and high-volume service periods.
- Support junior kitchen staff where required.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
- Contribute ideas to improve kitchen systems, menu execution, and overall guest experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chef or in a similar commercial cookery role.
- Experience working in a busy restaurant, pub, brewery, café, or comparable hospitality venue.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail, presentation, and consistency.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow direction, work as part of a team, and communicate clearly.
- Understanding of stock control, food rotation, and waste minimisation.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and busy event periods as required.
- Current Australian work rights or ability to obtain appropriate work authorisation.
- Ability to reliably commute to, or relocate to, Duncraig WA before starting work.
