Fran Capelli Academy is a Registered Training Organisation committed to delivering practical, industry-relevant and high-quality vocational education. We are expanding our Building and Construction programs in South Australia and are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Building and Construction Trainer and Assessor to join our team.
The successful applicant will deliver and assess units from:
- CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction
- CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction
About the Role
As a Trainer and Assessor, you will support students to develop the technical knowledge and practical skills required to work effectively within the building and construction industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging and industry-relevant training to students
- Conducting fair, valid, reliable and compliant assessments
- Providing timely and constructive feedback on student assessments
- Supporting students throughout their training journey
- Monitoring student participation, progress and completion
- Conducting training and assessment through scheduled classes, online sessions and workplace visits, where required
- Maintaining accurate attendance, assessment and student progress records
- Participating in assessment validation and continuous improvement activities
- Reviewing and contributing to training and assessment resources
- Ensuring training and assessment practices comply with RTO requirements and the applicable training package
- Maintaining current knowledge of building legislation, codes, standards and industry practices
- Working collaboratively with FCA’s training, compliance and administration teams
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a recognised equivalent that meets current trainer and assessor requirements
- Vocational competency at least to the level being delivered and assessed
- Relevant Building and Construction qualifications, preferably including:
- CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction, or equivalent
- CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction, or equivalent
- Substantial and current experience in the building and construction industry
- Current knowledge of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, workplace safety requirements and relevant South Australian building requirements
- Demonstrated experience in vocational education and competency-based assessment
- Strong communication, facilitation and student-support skills
- Sound computer skills and the ability to deliver and support training through online platforms
- The ability to maintain accurate and compliant training and assessment records
- Current professional development in both vocational training and the building and construction industry
- The right to work in Australia
Highly Desirable
The following will be highly regarded:
- Current or previous registration or licensing as a builder or building practitioner
- Experience delivering CPC40120 and/or CPC50220
- Experience using a Ms Teams
- Experience delivering training through face-to-face, virtual and workplace-based methods
- Experience participating in assessment validation and RTO compliance activities
- Access to an appropriate computer, reliable internet connection and transport for workplace visits, where required
