Role Overview
The Assistant Finance Officer (AFO) is responsible for supporting the Finance Officers in performing their daily duties, including assisting in the processing of accounts payable, commission’s payments and online banking.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in obtaining invoice approvals
- Record invoice details in accounting system
- Assist in setting up and processing online banking payments
- Assist in building out the new credit card process and building procedure documents
- Assist in the processing of credit card payments through the new system
- Assist in produce reports used for the commissions payment calculations and reporting
- Assist in the payment of commissions
- Assist with master data administration
- Assist in responding to broker queries
- Assist in identifying process improvements across finance officer tasks
- Perform ad hoc analysis and provide support to wider finance team
- Assist in the reconciliation of daily transactions to our core banking platform
- Take responsibility for work and demonstrate a high degree of professional scepticism around month end and payments
- Establish strong working rapport with other teams within the Group
- Positive contribution to company culture and work environmen
- Cover team members during periods of absence
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Exceptional attention to detail around accuracy of payments
- Experience in data processing / finance officer environment
- Good communication skills
- Teamwork and desire to help team members
- Financial institution background
- Tertiary qualifications in one or more of economics, business, accounting and/or finance
- Well-developed relationship skills. This will be demonstrated by an ability to provide a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to prioritise workloads and multi-task
- Operate with a high standard of ethics and integrity at all times
