About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the team at our established PGH Bricks manufacturing site in Bringelly. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting production performance and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently across our 24/7 manufacturing facility.
Working a Monday to Friday day shift roster (5:00am or 6:00am start available), you will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance activities across a range of production equipment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing preventative maintenance, inspections and planned repairs
- Troubleshooting mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns
- Supporting corrective maintenance activities to minimise downtime
- Maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Fabricating and modifying plant equipment as required
- Welding and mechanical fitting work across production assets
- Installing and replacing bearings and other mechanical components
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures
About You
You are a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with strong fault-finding skills and experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, mining, machinery, automotive or other heavy industry environment.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Mechanical trade qualification
- Experience in a Maintenance Fitter or similar role
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Welding experience (TIG and MIG)
- Fabrication skills and experience using workshop machinery such as lathes, drills and mills
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Desirable
- Manufacturing or continuous process industry experience
- Forklift Licence
- Confined Space certification
- Working at Heights certification
- First Aid certification
