This role has a 1in 4 arrangement for on-call support for emergency caesareans.
This position is pivotal in providing medical care and expertise to the women and families of the Maternity Unit. This role reports directly to the O&G Staff Specialist with additional support from Visiting Medical Officers. The hospital cares for approx. 400 births per year. This position has a 1 in 4 arrangement for on-call support for emergency caesareans which is shared between 2 other junior medical officers from the surgical and Orthopaedics department. This role does not have specific O&G Intern or RMO

What you'll be doing
Providing safe, effective and equitable medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment in inpatients and outpatient areas in the public health. The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unaccredited Trainee is responsible for the initial assessment of patients and ongoing day to day management under the direction and supervision of the appropriate Consultants. The O&G Unaccredited Trainee has a responsibility for ensuring appropriate communication and documentation takes place as well as a responsibility for the training and supervision of junior medical staff. This position is suitable for medical officers who plan to undertake a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Departmental support will be provided if an application for training with the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is planned. Full-time and part-time working arrangements will be considered.
