The opportunity
The Manager City Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction, operational oversight and continuous improvement across key city services. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and City Services, this role leads diverse teams delivering facility maintenance, city amenity, fleet and plant operations, emergency management and the Operations Centre, ensuring services are safe, efficient, customer focused and aligned with Council’s strategic objectives.
What you’ll do
- Lead City Operations services across facilities, amenity, fleet and emergency management
- Drive service excellence through strategic leadership and continuous improvement
- Manage budgets, contracts and projects to deliver effective outcomes
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and legislative requirements
- Lead and develop teams to foster collaboration, customer focus and performance
What you need to succeed
- Relevant tertiary qualification, with postgraduate management qualifications desirable
- Extensive leadership experience in complex operational environments
- Strong operational knowledge across facilities, amenity, waste and fleet services
- Proven financial, contract and project management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
