Pt. Leo Estate is looking for a motivated Assistant Cellar Door Manager to support the leadership of our award-winning cellar door and contribute to an exceptional guest experience on the Mornington Peninsula.
Our cellar door is recognised as one of the Peninsula's most sought-after tasting experiences, with a strong focus on storytelling, provenance, and showcasing our wines across multiple vintages.
This role suits a highly organised, hands on hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front, thrives in a premium hospitality environment, and is keen to build their operation and people management skills. As the 2IC to the Cellar Door Manager, you will lead by example, develop, and inspire staff, oversee daily operations, and stock control, and play an active role in growing and developing our wine club.

The Role
Working directly with the Cellar Door Manager, you will assist in overseeing daily operations while maintaining a strong presence on the floor. You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day administration of the wine club, fostering member engagement, and ensuring the successful delivery of all wine club mail outs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading an active role in Wine Club management, including daily administrative operations, building membership engagement and delivery on all wine club mail outs
- Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the cellar door
- Managing shifts and supporting the team to deliver premium service including our wine bar
- Responsible for the control of stock for Pt. Leo Estate wines whilst playing an active role in weekly stock takes
- Completing end-of-day procedures, reporting, and cash handling
- Managing administrative tasks that support operational efficiencies
- Preparing and maintaining staff rosters
- Contributing to staff development, training, and coaching and implementation of new internal processes
- Upholding service standards, presentation, and brand values
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance review processes
This is a full-time position operating on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a cellar door or hospitality leadership role
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Professional, adaptable, and calm under pressure, demonstrates a positive and collaborative attitude
- Experience with, or an interest in Wine Club administration, member engagement and confident in direct-to-consumer sales
- WSET Level II or equivalent wine qualification (preferred, not essential), or a willingness to further develop your wine knowledge
- Passion for cool-climate wines and a genuine appreciation for the Mornington Peninsula region
- A Confident and empowering communicator, who demonstrates a guest-first mindset with every decision
- A natural leader, one who leads by example through a hands-on approach and enjoys developing their team members
- Comfortable managing administrative responsibilities, demonstrates a strong understanding for stock control and operational processes
