Committee Member Opportunity: Children and Young People Death Review Committee.
Are you committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and young adults? The Children and Young People Death Review Committee is seeking experienced and committed individuals to join as Committee Members and play an important role in informing improvements to policy and legislation and strengthen outcomes for children, young people and young adults.
As a Committee Member, you will play a critical role in reviewing the circumstances surrounding the deaths of children and young people, identifying systemic issues and emerging trends, and contributing to research that informs evidence-based recommendations. Your expertise will help strengthen prevention efforts and improve the safety, wellbeing and outcomes of children, young people and young adults in the ACT.
We welcome applications from individuals with expertise in areas such as: paediatrics; epidemiology; child forensic medicine; public health administration; education; engineering and child safety products or systems; working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people; social work; investigations; mental health; child protection; coronial law and practice; or individuals with other qualifications, experience or expertise, or membership of an organisation, relevant to exercising the functions of a committee member. Successful applicants will bring sound judgement, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to using evidence to inform policy and practice.
Note: Appointments are for a period of three years. Appointment as member of the Children and Young People Death Review Committee is a statutory appointment made by the Minister for Children, Youth and Families.
