About the role
The Senior Delivery Engineer leads the delivery of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet safety, environmental and quality standards. The role also coordinates support from internal teams, manages suppliers, and ensures projects follow the DTP project lifecycle framework.
The role builds strong relationships with stakeholders and the community to achieve project outcomes while minimising disruption. It also develops team capability, provides effective leadership, and promotes a safe, inclusive and flexible workplace, ensuring staff remain engaged and deliver high-quality project management services

You’re someone who:
- Leads the successful delivery of complex projects by establishing clear governance, managing risks, and achieving quality, budget and schedule outcomes.
- Builds strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, understanding their needs to deliver positive outcomes for clients, the community and the organisation.
- Develops and supports others through coaching, constructive feedback and capability-building, while fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
- Applies critical thinking and professional engineering expertise to solve complex problems, manage risks, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Focuses on delivering meaningful outcomes by using sound judgement, promoting continuous improvement, and creating positive impacts for the community.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
Relevant experience in the delivery of large transport projects (Mandatory)
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mandatory)
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil) (Desirable)
Tertiary qualifications in project management (Desirable)
Pre-employment checks and employment conditions
Relevant pre-employment screening and reference checks will be required.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
Recipients of Victorian Public Service (VPS) voluntary departure packages should note that re-employment restrictions apply.
