As a Retail Assistant your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional customer service by always greeting customers in a positive and friendly manner, handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently and making the product selection for the guest. A Retail Assistant is responsible for stocking Thredbo Retail store/s with merchandise and keeping it well presented at all times as well as maintaining a fun customer focused environment.
About the role
- Working effectively with the Marketing team to undertake any other tasks as required.
- All staff are required to wear an appropriate and properly fitted snow sports helmet whilst skiing and snowboarding at work or whilst skiing and snowboarding in an engaged duty for KT.
- Must agree to wear various pieces of outerwear supplied by different brands for photo shoots.
- Must supply own riding equipment and maintain your equipment to industry safe standards.
Skills & Experience
- Retail Sales - Maintain a good understanding of the large range of retail products on offer and the skill to determine the most appropriate product/s for each individual. Be mindful of opportunities to on-sell/up-sell to appropriate products.
- Rental Accessory Fitting - Maintain knowledge of the range of ski and snowboard accessories available such as clothing, helmets and wrist guards to correctly fit the most appropriate equipment for each individual’s needs.
- Rental Returns – When returned all equipment is to be inspected, items are then to be cleaned and put away and any maintenance is to be reported.
- Store Presentation- Clean and restock all retail, rental and cashiering areas daily to achieve a well presented and functional work environment. This includes the proper storage of all rental equipment, as well as washing of rental clothing.
- Cash Handling –Perform sales transactions quickly and accurately in accordance with company policies and procedures. Accurate cash handling and balancing of daily tills.
