We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Cook specializing in authentic South Indian and Kerala cuisine. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of traditional dishes while ensuring food quality, consistency, hygiene, and efficient kitchen operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation and Cooking
- Prepare and cook a range of authentic South Indian and Kerala dishes, including appams, dosas, idlis, vadas, porottas, curries, sambar, rasam, chutneys, biryanis, and traditional meals.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, marinating, grinding, and measuring according to recipes and kitchen requirements.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion control, and presentation of all dishes.
- Prepare and cook food for daily restaurant operations, catering functions, festivals, and special events.
- Monitor cooking processes and adjust temperatures, seasoning, and cooking times as required.
Kitchen Operations
- Organise and maintain workstations to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
- Assist with coordinating food preparation during busy service periods.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
Food Safety and Hygiene
- Comply with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and rotation of food products using FIFO principles.
- Monitor food quality and freshness to maintain restaurant standards.
- Participate in regular cleaning schedules and kitchen maintenance.
Stock Control
- Assist in monitoring stock levels and reporting ingredient requirements.
- Receive, inspect, and store food supplies appropriately.
- Minimise food wastage through proper preparation and storage practices.
- Participate in stocktakes and inventory management activities.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
