The business delivers end-to-end construction and project management services through a dedicated in-house team, handling every phase of construction from initial site preparation through to completion.
Position
Stark Civil is seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team.
This is a full-time and permanent position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, design and oversee civil engineering works including road construction, stormwater drainage and contractual subdivision infrastructure.
- Analyse and interpret engineering plans, specifications and technical data to ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved designs and relevant standards.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, project briefs, specifications, tenders and quotations, ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable codes of practice.
- Develop project estimates and budgets in accordance with current engineering practices, standards and the project design brief.
- Plan, schedule and coordinate all project activities, resources and contractors to ensure works are delivered efficiently, economically and on time.
- Monitor construction activities and inspect works to verify compliance with approved plans, OH&S legislation, environmental requirements and contractual obligations.
- Manage and direct consultants, contractors and in-house staff involved in the delivery of civil engineering works.
- Ensure all contractors hold current insurances, submit required safety documentation and are formally inducted prior to commencing work on each site.
- Conduct and participate in site audits, identifying engineering and safety issues and implementing corrective measures as required.
- Prepare and present regular engineering reports and project updates to senior management, advising on technical issues, progress and risks.
- Process and manage procurement activities including the generation of purchase orders, contractor engagement and receipting of completed works in accordance with procurement policy.
- Ensure grant funding claims and acquittals associated with allocated projects are processed in compliance with contractual deeds and submitted within required timelines.
- Investigate and resolve technical and engineering-related customer service matters as allocated.
- Provide technical support and direction to construction staff undertaking in-house civil works.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline plus at least one year of relevant work experience.
Renumeration
- Salary will be determined based on level of experience. This is a senior position.
