We're looking for a Commercial Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a broad, hands on role that combines financial accounting with commercial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and operational business partnering. You'll work closely with our venue and leadership teams, helping turn financial data into practical insights that support better business decisions as we continue to grow.

What you'll do:
- Partner with Operations to support venue budgeting, forecasting and financial performance
- Lead monthly venue P&L reviews, providing insights into revenue, labour and cost performance
- Deliver accurate month end reporting, reconciliations, journals and financial controls
- Manage lease accounting (AASB 16), fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support board, management and investor reporting with meaningful financial analysis
- Maintain relationships with banking partners, payment providers, landlords and insurance brokers
- Coordinate insurance renewals, claims and bank guarantee administration
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling across the venue network
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and automation, including leveraging AI where appropriate
- Contribute to audit preparation, sustainability reporting and continuous improvement projects across the finance function
What we're looking for:
- CA or CPA qualified (or in the final stages of completing your qualification)
- Experience in financial or management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and month-end reporting
- Experience with lease accounting (AASB 16) and multi-entity reporting environments
- Retail, hospitality or other multi-site industry experience is highly regarded
- Strong Excel skills, with experience using cloud accounting or ERP systems such as Xero or Microsoft Business Central
- Curious about technology and AI, with an interest in improving finance processes through automation
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
