About the role:
This position is situated within the operations unit of the MacKillop Seasons team, which is responsible for the delivery of the Seasons for Growth change and loss education programs.
The Casual Trainer will deliver training workshops for Companions in any/all of the Seasons for Growth suite of programs.
The Casual Trainer is a member of the MacKillop Seasons Team and reports to the Training Coordinator. The position reports to the Lead – National Partnerships on matters relating to knowledge and expertise of the suite of programs.
About you:
You are a confident and engaging facilitator with a passion for delivering high-quality training and supporting others to succeed. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working alongside fellow trainers to design and deliver impactful learning experiences.
With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you build positive relationships with stakeholders and work effectively with Trainer and Companion Support Leads, co-trainers, and support teams to ensure seamless training delivery. You are highly organised and proactive, able to manage training logistics, scheduling, and administrative requirements with attention to detail.
You demonstrate sound professional judgement and remain calm and adaptable when navigating complex or challenging situations in a training environment. You are comfortable seeking guidance when needed and are committed to continuous learning, actively participating in mentoring, assessments, and professional development opportunities.
You take pride in maintaining high standards, following established processes, and ensuring training is delivered safely, efficiently, and effectively—from preparation through to completion and follow-up. Whether facilitating face-to-face sessions or supporting operational requirements, you bring a flexible, solutions-focused approach and are willing to contribute wherever needed.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Ability to understand issues and responsibilities relating to Mandatory Reporting and Child Protection.

A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families. Experience in loss and grief education and the MacKillop Seasons suite of programs.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field with an application of the relevant level of discipline knowledge with additional knowledge of grief theory an advantage.

Appropriate teaching or adult training qualifications or experience (or equivalent) and an appreciation for adult learning principles.
