The Opportunity:
Bring your creativity, care and culinary skill to the breakfast team at Crystalbrook Riley.
As a Commis Chef, you will support the preparation and presentation of fresh, high-quality breakfast dishes that set the tone for our guests’ day. Working across buffet and à la carte service, you will help maintain strong standards of quality, consistency and presentation while contributing to a smooth and well-organised kitchen operation.
You will work closely with the wider Culinary team, developing your skills in an environment that celebrates fresh local ingredients, thoughtful flavours and responsible hospitality.
This is a part-time position offering 16–24+ hours per week, with a focus on early morning breakfast shifts across a rotating seven-day roster. There will also be opportunities to learn, grow and build your career within a passionate and collaborative kitchen team.
The Talent:
You are motivated, reliable and take pride in your craft. You enjoy the pace of breakfast service, bring a calm and organised approach to the kitchen and are eager to continue developing your culinary skills.
You will bring:

A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification

Previous experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant environment

Experience supporting breakfast, buffet or à la carte service

A strong understanding of workplace health and safety, food safety and hygiene standards

Clear communication skills and a collaborative, respectful approach to teamwork

Strong attention to detail and consistency across preparation, cooking and presentation

The ability to remain calm, organised and professional during busy service periods

Availability to work early mornings across a seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays
