We're looking for a caring, reliable, and community-minded casual to join our Community Transport Driver team.

About the role:
The Community Transport Driver role provides safe, reliable, and high-quality transport services to eligible clients to remain active, independent and engaged within the Darebin community.
You will:
- Work collaboratively as part of a Community Transport Team to optimise effective operations and outcomes.

Drive a Council vehicle (coaster bus or minibus) to safely transport clients to and from community activities, helping them stay connected with their community.

Adopt a solution focused approach when working with clients that promotes independence whilst maintaining client safety.

Assist clients to board and disembark the vehicle as required.

Ensure the safety and well-being of clients through safe, responsible and courteous driving.

Maintain, clean and check vehicles and equipment according to daily procedures.

Work safely using safe manual handling techniques and lifting equipment to transport mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers
- Monitor client wellbeing and report any concerns or issues to Team Leader within the required timeframes.
About you:
You will have:
- Experience in passenger bus transportation - 14 seater (or larger)
- A current CPV driver accreditation
- A current Light Rigid Licence and Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Knowledge of City of Darebin local roads and landmarks
- Experience working with older people and people with disabilities
- Good understanding and empathy with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Current First Aid certificate
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent (desirable)
